Govenor Malloy Upstages President Obama

"Our leaders in Washington are so divided," Malloy said, adding that "there's no excuse" for lawmakers in Washington to oppose expanded background checks.

Did Connecticut's Governor, Dan Malloy purposely upstage President Obama by passing the strictest gun legislation in the nation?  Let's look at the facts:

1. 4/2/13 - The Hill reported that President Obama will be visiting Connecticut in support of gun legislation.
2. 4/3/13 to 4/14/13 - The Farmington Patch reported the Connecticut Legislature stayed in session through the night to pass the gun bill which passed by vote at 2:26 a.m. on 4/3/13.
3. 4/4/13 The Huffington Post reported that Governor Dan Malloy signed the Connecticut Gun Bill into law.
4. 4/7/13 President Obama visits Hartford University to market gun legislation.

Not to be outdone by Governor Malloy, Obama announces that the families of the Newtown shooting victims will accompany the President on Air Force One to appear in Washington D.C.

So I ask, did we lose our more of our Second Amendment rights in Connecticut because of a pissing contest between Malloy and Obama?
