In March of 2008, Glenn Beck asked his viewers to make a commitment to the 9.12 Project. Glenn listed the Principles and Values of the 9.12 Project and challenged those who believed in those Principles and Values to set a goal; make a commitment to returning our country to its founding principles.
I ruminated on what I - an aging single mother and grandmother - could do. Unpredictable health, a full time job and a household to run left me little time or energy for other activities. Finally, in my daily prayers, I asked God for direction. His answer -"'I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut; I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name. " Revelation 3:8.
As my prayer journal lay open in my lap, I knew that there laid the Power of God. So for one year I prayed. I prayed that God would defeat our enemies - without and within. I prayed that God would reveal the evil in our government and officials. I prayed that their eyes would be opened by the Spirit of God to accept salvation. I prayed that God would remove my despair and replace it with hope.
This summer I joined other elderly ladies with our signs and smiles on the busiest street corner in our New England town. Our message was clear - our smiles genuine, and I continued to pray.
On this day, I will begin to share my prayers and hope that any readers will join me in one voice as we pray for the restoratin of our Great Republic.
